Tigerair (Tiger Airways) Airbus A320 VH-VNJ Departs - And Returns in Virgin Australia Colours!

It was interesting to note that in the last week that Airbus A320 VH-VNJ, which had been operated by Tigerair (Tiger Airways) Australia, ferried into back Australia via Darwin and Perth now in the full titles and livery of their parent company, Virgin Australia.

It has been reported that VH-VNJ will soon commence operations out of the Western Australian capital for Virgin on their regional WA, Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) and other services, joining a pair of other Airbus A320s - VH-FNP and VH-YUD.

VH-VNJ operated its final service for Tigerair in early February before it soon after ferried out of Australia from Melbourne (Tullamarine) to Manilla in the Philippines for what was reported to be planned maintenance.

Research shows that the final visit of VH-VNJ into Central Queensland was to Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast) Airport way back on Thursday 28 December 2017 when it operated the scheduled TGW394/397 service from and back to Sydney.

Of interest, VH-VNJ was originally delivered to Tiger Airways (Singapore) in 2006 as 9V-TAI.  It was then delivered to Tigerair Australia in September 2009 and re-registered VH-VNJ.

UPDATE!  VH-VNJ completed its first test flight for Virgin Australia out of Perth in late April before it entered service in early May.  The photo added above was taken in Adelaide in June 2018.  It's been noted that VH-VNJ has been named 'Cossies Beach'.
