ADF Training Flights at CQ Airports on Tuesday - RAAF B737-700BBJ A36-002 at Hervey Bay - Army MRH-90 Helicopters at Hamilton Island

Certainly some interesting Australian Defence Force (ADF) aircraft and helicopters continue to complete training and crew familiarisation flights into Central Queensland Airports.

During the late afternoon on Tuesday 21 May, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing B737-7DF(BBJ) A36-002 as "Envoy 72" was noted completing airwork including a missed approach at Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport.  It flew up from Canberra and then returned South to RAAF Base Amberley.

Even though we've seen a lot of the RAAF BBJs of late with the Federal election campaign, this visit was certainly a surprise.

Meanwhile, after the sun had set also on Tuesday 21 May, three Australian Army NH Industries MRH-90 Multi-Role Helicopters were noted completing flights into Hamilton Island Airport from and back to their Townsville Base - A40-003 as "Kraken 12", A40-023 as "Kraken 13" and A40-021 as "Kraken 11".

It's also worth noting that earlier in the day also on Tuesday 21 May, another Australian Army MRH-90 A40-032 as "Vigilance 89" was noted overflying Emerald Airport while flying (surprisingly) direct from Oakey to Townsville.

While also during the day and evening also on Tuesday 21 May, other Australian Army MRH-90s A40-016 as "Jackal", A40-016 as "Destrier 104" and A40-003 "Destrier 114" were all seen on radar operating around Townsville.
