Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service (CHRS) (Babcock Mission Critical Services Australasia) Bell 412EP Helicopter VH-VAU Ferries North to Horn Island

It appears that over the course of late last week, the locally-based Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service (CHRS) (Babcock Mission Critical Services Australasia) Bell 412EP helicopter VH-VAU departed Rockhampton Airport and ferried North via all stops to Horn Island.

It appears that it may have ferried to Far North Queensland to replace the usually Horn Island-based Babcock Mission Critical Services Australasia Bell 412EP VH-PXY which operates locally on medical evacuation flights as “Rescue 700”.

VH-PXY appears to be undergoing planned maintenance.

And on Wednesday 22 May, VH-VAU was noted operating out of Horn Island as “Rescue 700”.

UPDATE!  It appears that on Saturday 1 June, VH-PXY returned to service at Horn Island as “Rescue 700”. While on Sunday 2 June, VH-VAU ferried back South to Rockhampton Airport.
