New QGAir Rescue (State of Queensland) Leonardo S.P.A. Helicopters (Agusta) AW139 Helicopter VH-EGF Spotted at Mackay Airport and Mackay Base Hospital

On Wednesday 7 August, still relatively new Queensland Government (QGAir) Rescue (State of Queensland) Leonardo S.P.A. Helicopter (Agusta) AW139 helicopter VH-EGF was photographed visiting Mackay Airport and Mackay Base Hospital while on a medical evacuation flight from and back to Townsville as "Rescue 521".

As mentioned previously, VH-EGF is one of two new Leonardo AW139 helicopters - the other is VH-EGK - that were registered and delivered to QGAir at the end of last year.  The two helicopters underwent modification and fitting out at Caloundra Airport on the Sunshine Coast prior to entering service earlier this year.

Both VH-EGF and VH-EGK have ferried North and South via CQ Airports when heading to North Queensland to operate out of the QGAir Rescue Townsville and Cairns bases.
