Pionair Australia British Aerospace BAe-146-200 VH-SAZ Spotted at Rockhampton Airport - Plus Pionair BAe 146 Fleet Update!

On Tuesday 8 February, Pionair Australia British Aerospace BAe 146-200QC VH-SAZ was photographed as it arrived into Rockhampton Airport. It had flown in from Horn Island and Cairns as 'SFZ643' / "Skyforce 643" having earlier flown up there from Cairns as 'SFZ9030' / "Skyforce 9030".

After around an hour on the ground, VH-SAZ then departed Rockhampton Airport and flew to Bankstown but as 'SFZ9025' / "Skyforce 9025".

With school starting back up this week, it is believed that VH-SAZ operated the return part of the 'regular' school kids charter flight from/to Rocky.

Of interest, the other passenger configured BAe 146-200 VH-SYO is currently parked at Bankstown and hasn't flown for some time.  Another passenger configured BAe 146-200 VH-SBZ (ex D-AWUE) arrived at Bankstown in late 2019 but so far hasn't flown with the airline.

While their fleet of cargo configured BAe 146-200 and BAe 146-300 aircraft are either parked or still operating cargo flights, including week-daily flights through Central Queensland on behalf of Qantas Freight flying from Brisbane to Townsville and Cairns which have been operated lately by either VH-SAJ or VH-SQR.

Sincere thanks to local plane spotter 'IAD' for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos!
