New QantasLink Dash--Q400 Next Gen VH-84A (ex C-FENY) First Revenue Flight into CQ at Rockhampton Airport - Plus More!

On Friday 20 December, recently delivered QantasLink Dash-8-Q400 VH-84A completed its first ever revenue flight, and it happened to be into CQ, with it touching down at Rockhampton Airport from Brisbane as QLK2366.

It then departed to Mackay Airport and then Townsville and Cairns as QLK2358.

The second-hand Dash-8-Q400 is the first of 12 (or 14) aircraft that the Qantas Group has purchased from Canadian operator WestJet Encore.  VH-84A previously operated as C-FENY and operated with the airline from August 2013 until August 2024.

The Dash-8 arrived into Australia via Darwin and then Brisbane on Sunday 8 December, still wearing its Canadian registration marking of C-FENY, completing a massive delivery flight from Canada - Eastbound via Europe and Asia.

It was promptly placed on the Australian Aircraft Register and completed a test flight before heading to Rockhampton Airport as described above.

UPDATE!  On Saturday 21 December, VH-84A returned back South from Cairns to Brisbane via Townsivlle, Mackay and Rockhampton Airports as QFA2355/2361.

Meanwhile, also on Friday 20 December, Townsville Airlines Raytheon B1900D VH-PSK arrived into Rockhampton Airport from Townsville and then departed to Brisbane.

And Cessna 208 Caravan VH-DZZ, which is operated by the Skydive the Beach Group, flew down from the Whitsunday Airport at Shute Harbour to the Shellharbour Airport at Woolongong.
