A Pair of Australian Army Blackhawk Helicopters Fly up the Central Queensland Coast and Land at Mackay Airport Saturday

Plane spotters at Gladstone and Rockhampton alerted me to the fantastic sight of a pair of Australian Army Sikorsky S-70A-9 Blackhawk Helicopters flying up the Central Queensland coast at fairly high level on Saturday 8 June.  They were noted flying apart over Gladstone Airport and then over Rockhampton Airport heading North.

Later, Rockhampton plane spotters Ben O and Ash B, who were in Mackay for a model show, spotted (what was believed to be) the pair of Blackhawks landing at Mackay Airport.

Ash B was at the right place at the right time being at Mackay Airport and capturing a couple of great images of the two Blackhawks - A25-110 and A25-208.

Thanks to all the plane spotters out there who alerted us to the flight movements of these great choppers!  Much appreciated all!

Special thanks to Ben O and Ash B for sending through their great photos!
