More Bizjets and Light GA Aircraft Spotted at Rockhampton Airport for Beef Week

Monday 4 May turned out to be another very busy day at Rockhampton Airport with more bizjets and light General Aviation (GA) aircraft calling in, all presumably bringing in passengers to attend "Beef Week" - Beef Australia 2015 - which will be held from this week at Rockhampton to celebrate all facets of the Australian beef industry.

After arriving on Sunday 3 May, Execujet Australia Canadair CL600-2B16 (CL-604) Challenger 604 bizjet VH-VRE remained parked on the Northern end of the Rocky Airport apron and was captured by local plane spotter 'IAD' late on Monday.

Another bizjet to touch down at Rockhampton Airport on Monday 4 May was Yulgibar Pastoral Company (of Montmorency, Victoria) Cessna 550 Citation Bravo VH-FGK.

It touched down from Melbourne (Moorabbin) and Canberra.

Captured by 'IAD' arriving into Rocky later on Monday 4 May was Gulf Aircraft Cessna 680 Citation Sovereign bizjet VH-PYN.

It is likely that the sleek Citation arrived from Archerfield where I believe it is based.

Finally, the now familiar sight of Gulf Coast Aviation Cessna 510 Citation Mustang bizjet VH-KXM was also noted calling back into Rocky from Townsville.

Of the light GA aircraft to call into Rockhampton Airport on Monday 4 May, Gold Coast-based Hawker Beechcraft B300 VH-OXF was noted visiting again, while brightly coloured Piper PA-31-350 Navajo VH-SIK was captured after arriving earlier on Monday.

Another bright and colourful aircraft spotted was Glen Innes-based Cessna 310N VH-KOM.

New South Wales-based Cessna 182 VH-ZWP, Woodstock-based Piper PA-32-300 VH-PMX, Sunshine Coast-based Mooney M20J VH-KDC and Blackall-based Raytheon A36 Bonanza VH-VLV were all heard and seen to be visiting the beef capital on Monday

As was Inverell-based Beech E55 VH-TCD and Alice Springs-based Cessna 182 VH-WFR.

And locally-based aircraft including Mooney M20TN VH-JEU, R-Mach Aviation Cessna 337G VH-JOE and Atlass Aviation Vulcanair (Partenavia) P.68C VH-CFT were also noted in the air with VH-CFT returning from Dalby.

Finally, the Queensland Police Service (Airwing) Raytheon B1900D VH-PSK also called into Rockhampton Airport twice on Monday 4 May during a busy day of flying.

Some really great visitors to Rockhampton Airport this week - especially the most welcome visitors from inter-state - and we thank 'IAD' sincerely for capturing and sharing with us some of the action!
