Virgin Australia B737-800 Charter to Mackay Airport from Melbourne for AFL Game

On Saturday 5 March Virgin Australia Boeing B737-800 VH-VUU was noted arriving into Mackay Airport on what appeared to be a charter flight from Melbourne (Tullamarine) Airport as VOZ1005.  I presume this was a charter flight to transport players and supporters of the Saint Kilda Australian Rules Football (AFL) club who were due to play the Brisbane Lions in a game at Mackay on Sunday 6 March.

Sadly, the game was washed out by the incessant rain that has passed through the region over the weekend.

At the time of writing late on Sunday 6 March, it appears that fellow Virgin Australia Boeing B737-800 VH-VOO is preparing to depart from Mackay to Melbourne on the return leg of the charter as VOZ1006.
