A Couple King Airs and More at Rockhampton Airport - RFDS VH-MVP - Machjet VH-MWZ

Spotted making a very rare - and maybe first ever - visit to CQ on Thursday 7 July was Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Raytheon B200 King Air VH-MVP.

VH-MVP is operated by the South-Eastern Section of the RFDS and seems to be based out of Dubbo in New South Wales, although it has been operating out of Melbourne (Essendon) of late.  In fact, on Thursday 7 July, VH-MVP flew into Rocky from Essendon via Dubbo as "FlyDoc 254".

It appears to be staying for at least the night.

Earlier on Thursday 7 July, another nice King Air in the form McDermott Aviation Group / Machjet International Beech B200 VH-MWZ also paid Rockhampton Airport a visit.  Local plane spotter Kayanne H captured VH-MWZ on finals to Rockhampton's Runway 33 after flying North from its Sunshine Coast base.

After a short turnaround, VH-MWZ returned to the Sunny Coast.

Finally, it's worth mentioning that on Wednesday 6 July, Torres Strait Air AeroCommander 500-S VH-EXC called into Rockhampton Airport while ferrying from Cairns to Archerfield - I presume for planned maintenance.

Thanks to local plane spotters Trevor H and Kayanne H for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos!
