Recently Delivered Seair De Havilland DHC-6-100 Twin Otter VH-BVS at Bundaberg Airport Friday

Noted making its first visit to CQ on Friday 1 July was Seair Pacific / Istelcote's recently delivered De Havilland DHC-6-100 Twin Otter VH-BVS.  It looked to operate into Bundaberg Airport from Lady Elliot Island before returning there later in the day.

The 'twotter' (MSN 90) has had an interesting history, recently being re-built by CJ Aerospace at Wagga Wagga in New South Wales after being left derelict in the mid-2000's following several years as a skydiving aircraft operating around Sydney as VH-OTA.  It had been reported that VH-BVS was to be delivered to Blue Wing Airline NV in Suriname however, I'm not 100% sure whether it ever left Australia.

VH-BVS was delivered to Seair's Gold Coast Airport base in mid-June and it has only this commenced operations on Seair's flights from the Gold Coast to Lady Elliot Island.

Of interest, VH-BVS looked to be joined on Lady Elliot Island on Friday 1 July by Seair's other recently acquired De Havilland DHC-6-100 Twin Otter VH-ZKF.

I hope we can catch one, or both, of these beauties on the camera one day soon!

I used a couple of great websites chock-full of specialised information on the De Havilland Twin Otter - well worth checking out!!
