Emergency Management Queensland (EMQ) Agusta AW139 Rescue Helicopter VH-ESZ at Gladstone Airport

Photographed by local plane spotters Michael F, and Jamie and Tash on Saturday 12 April was Emergency Management Queensland (EMQ) Agusta AW139 rescue helicopter VH-ESZ.

The chopper touched down at Gladstone from Archerfield.

After taking on fuel, VH-ESZ departed North to Mackay.  It was heard to be using its 'usual' radio callsign of "Rescue 500".

It was expected that the helicopter was to continue North-bound to assist with the clean-up and relief effort after Tropical Cyclone Ita passed through Far North Queensland.
