It's been a momentous week for Tigerair (Tiger Airways) Australia, launching flights to Proserpine / Whitsunday Coast Airport from Sydney this week - see Blog Post HERE. However, Tigerair continues to fly to Mackay from Melbourne (Tullamarine) and Brandon captured Airbus A320 VH-VNC as it was departing on Thursday as TGW745.
Alliance Airlines Fokker F-100 VH-XWT was captured as it was on very short finals to Mackay's Runway 14. It was operating on behalf of QantasLink as UTY2644. VH-XWT had earlier flown from Gladstone to Brisbane - see Blog Post below.
Finally during his mid-morning plane spotting session, Brandon captured Virgin Australia Boeing B737-800 VH-VOS as it was departing Mackay to Brisbane as VOZ608. As shown, VH-VOS could be considered the 'ugly duckling' for the Virgin fleet at the moment, wearing very faded Virgin Blue colours, a white nose cone, and now it also has lost its LiveTV 'hump' that was on the top-rear of the fuselage.
Later on Thursday 3 April, Brandon departed Mackay, and while he was at the terminal, he spotted Virgin Australia Boeing B737-800 VH-VUY as it arrived into the sugar city from Brisbane as VOZ613. As posted below, VH-VUY spent all of Wednesday in CQ visiting Rockhampton, Mackay and Gladstone, as highlighted in our Blog post below.
Also spotted was QantasLink (Cobham Aviation) Boeing B717-200 VH-NXG.
Brandon departed on VH-NXG, which arrived as QJE1768 and departed back to Brisbane as QJE1769.
Sincere thanks to Brandon for taking the time to capture and send through these awesome images!
He reports that he may be back in Mackay at semi-regular intervals. It will be great to see more images coming from one of CQ's busier airports!

Where are the best places to spot at Mackay besides the terminal as I will be up their next week for some spotting?
