Virgin Australia certainly had an interesting day on Monday 31 March, with the scheduled VOZ1555 flight from Sydney to Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport noted to divert into Brisbane Airport. As we mentioned below, there were other flight cancellations and delays for Virgin out of Rockhampton and Mackay in previous days.
The Hervey Bay flight was being operated by Embraer E-190 VH-ZPF, and as the flight-track below shows, the aircraft held near the Airport for a time before landing on Runway 19 at Brisbane.
It is assumed that VH-ZPF had a technical problem as fellow E-190 VH-ZPN - which had earlier operated to Mount Isa - continued the VOZ1555 flight from Brisbane to Hervey Bay. VH-ZPN then operated to Sydney as the delayed VOZ1554 service.
