Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) King Air VH-FDA ILS Training at Gladstone Airport

An interesting arrival into Gladstone Airport on Wednesday 2 April was Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Hawker Beechcraft B200 King Air VH-FDA.

What was interesting was that VH-FDA conducted a go-around following a practice ILS approach onto Runway 10 at Gladstone.

After eventually landing, VH-FDA taxied to the holding point and departed for Rockhampton.

The Bundaberg-based RFDS King Air was using the radio callsign on "FlyDoc 401".

One would assume now that with the Gladstone Instrument Landing System (ILS) operational that more aircraft will be spotted at Gladstone conducting air-work similar to this.

Thanks to Jamie and Tash for the great photos!
