A very busy Wednesday 2 April at Gladstone Airport was highlighted by the arrival of a nice pair of jets into the industrial city in the form of Virgin Australia Boeing B737-800 VH-VUY and Alliance Airlines Fokker F-100 VH-XWT.
VH-VUY was first to touch down, operating a scheduled service into Gladstone from Brisbane as VOZ1715.
It departed soon after returning to Brisbane as VOZ1720.
Then Alliance Airlines Fokker F-100 VH-XWT made a welcome arrival into Gladstone, touching down as UTY650.
The Fokker was believed to be operating the regular 9-day Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) charter flight from Brisbane which is usually operated by Our Airline.
As shown above, VH-XWT stayed for the night, and then departed early on Thursday 3 April as UTY651 returning to Brisbane.
It it expected that the visit of the Alliance Fokker was a one-off.
Sincere thanks to local plane spotters Jamie and Tash for capturing these great photos!
