One of the four 'new' RAAF Super King Airs A32-988 (File photo) |
Both Super King Airs are now flown by the RAAF's 32 Squadron and flew up from their home at RAAF Base East Sale in Victoria via Tamworth. After landing for a short time, both A32-008 and A32-437 departed Roma Airport for the Sunshine Coast where they looked to be spending the night.
Of interest, this is the first time that A32-008 has been seen (verified) in Central Queensland. It is one of four new Super King Airs that have leased from Hawker Pacific for operations with 32 Squadron. It is believed that A32-008 (CN: FL-1008) wore the Australian civil registration marking of VH-KQD while being prepared for service.
A32-008 looks to be possibly joined by A32-988 (CN: FL-988) (ex VH-KQF) which was photographed on display at the recent Australian International Airshow at Avalon Airport, A32-003 (CN: FL-1003) (ex VH-KQG) and A32-021 (CN: FL-1021) (ex VH-KQE).
