Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing C-17A Globemaster III A41-210 Departs Rockhampton Airport as "Stallion 17" - But it Could be Back?!

After arriving the previous evening, on Monday 13 May, the visiting Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing C-17A Globemaster III A41-210 departed Rockhampton Airport for its home at RAAF Base Amberley, again flying as "Stallion 17".

It's been reported that the Globemaster brought a load of American troops and equipment to town with word coming from the Airport that they have come to Rockhampton for an Exercise in the nearby Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA).

As shown below, it had arrived into Rocky direct from Darwin late on Sunday 12 May.

In fact, there were even rumours that more troops are due to arrive into Rocky later in the week with it speculated that Globemaster A41-210 or one of its 'stablemates' from the RAAF's 36 Squadron will arrive into Rockhampton Airport later this week.  We shall wait and see!

Stay tuned for the latest updates!

Sincere thanks to local plane spotters for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos and video!
