Townsville Airlines Beech 1900D VH-JYA Pops into Rockhampton Airport - Plus More!

On Wednesday 6 April, an aircraft we haven't seen in a while in Central Queensland in the form of re-registered Townsville Airlines Beech 1900D VH-JYA was noted visiting Rockhampton Airport.

It looked to fly down from Cairns and Townsville, before then later departing back to Townsville and Cairns.

VH-JYA possibly was used on a Queensland Police flight as it was used in 2021 when it had just moved across to Far North Queensland from Western Australia where it was registered to and operated by Awesome Aviation.

Meanwhile, also on Wednesday 6 April, the Queensland Government Airwing (State of Queensland) Raytheon B300 Super King Air VH-SGQ was noted visiting Bundaberg Airport from Brisbane.

Also visiting Bundaberg Airport was new Dalydine P/L (Pilatus Australia) Pilatus PC-12/47E VH-FGZ.  It arrived from and then later departed back to the Gold Coast via the Sunshine Coast.

Parklea (Air Services) (of Victoria) Agusta AW109SP helicopter VH-CZT was noted flying up from Bundaberg Airport to Gladstone, Mackay and Hamilton Island Airports.  It had arrived at Bundy the previous day having looked to fly up from Melbourne (Essendon) to the South-East corner of Queensland over the latter part of March and into early April.

UPDATE!  On Friday 8 April, VH-CZT departed Hamilton Island Airport and eventually made it to Cairns where it was photographed above.

While Sydney-based but American-registered Piper PA-60-600 Aerostar 600A N154DD departed Hamilton Island Airport for Roma Airport and its Camden base after arriving there last Friday 1 April.

Northern Territory-based Chartair Cessna 441 Conquest II VH-JFO completed an almost eight hour round-trip from Alice Springs to Mackay Airport and back.

And overnight, Avcair (Capital B Aviation Services) LearJet 60 bizjet VH-OLJ popped into Emerald Airport while flying from Richmond to Brisbane.

Finally, also on Wednesday 6 April, Skytrans Airlines Dash-8-100 VH-QQC departed Rockhampton Airport for Mackay Airport as SKP785.  It then completed three runs to the Labona Station Airstrip within Adani Australia's (Bravus Mining & Resources) Carmichael Coal Mine site and back to Mackay Airport as SKP793/4/1/2/5/6.

While fellow Skytrans Dash-8-100 VH-QQG arrived into Rockhampton Airport from Cairns as SKP788 before then flying to Labona and back as SKP789/790.  It then departed back to Cairns as SKP779.

And of interest, fellow Skytrans Dash-8-100 VH-QQF flew from Cairns to Perth Airport via Alice Springs and Kalgoorlie as SKP547.
