Link Airways (Corporate Air / Vee H Aviation) SAAB 340B+ VH-VEC First Visit to CQ at Theodore Aerodrome

On Monday 12 September, a surprise arrival into the region, and making its first ever visit, was Link Airways (Corporate Air / Vee H Aviation) SAAB 340B+ turboprop VH-VEC, which touched down at Theodore Aerodrome, operating a Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) charter flight from Brisbane via the Sunshine Coast.

The SAAB is one of several recently delivered aircraft to Link Airways, primarily for operations on regional Regular Passenger Transport (RPT) routes in New South Wales and Victoria.  The airline also operates some flights on behalf of Virgin Australia Airlines.

Of interest, VH-VEC was registered to and delivered to Link Airways (Corporate Air / Vee H Aviation) in Australia in July 2021 with it previously operating with Florida-based Silver Airways in the USA as N433XJ.

VH-VEC was registered at that time to parent company Vee H Aviation along with another SAAB 340B+ VH-VED.

Link Airways (Corporate Air / Vee H Aviation) has also taken delivery of three more SAAB 340Bs earlier in 2022 registered VH-VEA, VH-VEQ and VH-VER.

As far as we are aware, VH-VED, VH-VEA, VH-VEQ and VH-VER have yet to make an appearance in Central Queensland.
