A Mackay man has recently faced the Mackay Magistrates Court
where he pleaded guilty to behaving in an offensive and disorderly manner on a
QantasLink Dash-8-Q400 flight in January, earlier this year.
Police were called to Mackay Airport to meet the flight
about 8.30pm, where the man was arrested.
He was described as being out of control, and he was abusing flight
attendants, yelling obscenities and making vulgar gestures on the flight from
Brisbane to Mackay.
He also refused to sit down and kept wandering about the
cabin when the 'fasten seatbelts' sign was on.
He also used his mobile phone as the aircraft taxied towards the
terminal.
The man’s offensive behaviour was blamed on too much
complimentary wine on an earlier flight from Sydney to Brisbane.
The man was fined $600.
