Plane spotters at Gladstone and Rockhampton alerted me to the fantastic sight of a pair of Australian Army Sikorsky S-70A-9 Blackhawk Helicopters flying up the Central Queensland coast at fairly high level on
Saturday 8 June. They were noted flying apart over Gladstone Airport and then over Rockhampton Airport heading North.
Later, Rockhampton plane spotters Ben O and Ash B, who were in Mackay for a model show, spotted (what was believed to be) the pair of Blackhawks landing at Mackay Airport.
Ash B was at the right place at the right time being at Mackay Airport and capturing a couple of great images of the two Blackhawks - A25-110 and A25-208.
Thanks to all the plane spotters out there who alerted us to the flight movements of these great choppers! Much appreciated all!
Special thanks to Ben O and Ash B for sending through their great photos!
