Some More Plane Spotting Photos from the Weekend at Rockhampton Airport

Don W sends through some great images of some of the General Aviation action at Rockhampton over the last weekend. Don noted that there were a few aircraft 'over the top' that were conducting aerial survey operations overhead and near Rockhampton.

Some of these aircraft included Britten-Norman BN-2T Turbine Islander VH-YVH - which is kitted out with the Wescam MX-15 camera turret on the nose - but was captured by Don as it departed Rockhampton for Tamworth on Sunday 9 June.

Corporate Air (Vee H Aviation) Cessna 404 VH-VEC was also captured by Don as it prepared for departure to parts unknown.  Don reports that VH-VEC may have also been involved with the survey work.

Also, a pair of Australasian Jet Cessna 206 aircraft - VH-XBF and VH-FEN (which is pictured at Clermont Aerodrome in April when it performed aerial survey work in our area) - were also involved extensively in the survey work out of Rockhampton Airport.

Fugro Spatial Solutions Cessna 404 VH-AZU operated out of Emerald Airport all weekend but was noted also overhead Rockhampton and also Gladstone during the weekend.

Other movements at Rockhampton Airport on Sunday 9 June included Mackay-based Rockwell 114 VH-WFA.

Lastly Piper PA-25-180/A1 VH-KLA was spotted by Don.  This aircraft is registered in Victoria, however is a semi-regular visitor to Rockhampton and R-Mach Aviation where Don noted it was visiting.

Sincere thanks to Don for sending through his images - they are great!
