Pel-Air / Regional Express (REX) SAAB 340A VH-EKD Touches Down Twice at Gladstone Airport on Monday Evening

Pel-Air / Regional Express (REX) SAAB 340A VH-EKD was spotted arriving into Gladstone Airport from Brisbane late on Monday 3 June.

Local plane spotters, Jamie C and Tash C send through several lovely photos from very different angles as VH-EKD touched down and taxiied to its parking spot on the Gladstone Airport apron.

Jamie was also lucky enough to capture some stunning images of locally-based Gladstone Helicopters / Helireef Eurocopter EC135 P2 VH-ZGZ as it departed on a local flight.

Jamie also managed to photograph QantasLink (Cobham Aviation) Boeing B717-200 VH-NXR parked at Gladstone Airport, and then eventually departing back to Brisbane as QJE1713.

After about half-an-hour, VH-EKD departed for the Sunshine Coast.

However, a little later – and now after dark – VH-EKD returned to Gladstone Airport from the Sunshine Coast.

Jamie C captured some simply stunning atmospheric night photos of VH-EKD as it parked on the lover apron at Gladstone Airport.  It eventually departed for Brisbane.

While he was there, Jamie also captured the arrival of QantasLink Dash-8-Q400 VH-QOT, which touched down from Sydney as QLK2128.

Truly spectacular images from a pair of truly gifted aviation photographers!  My sincere thanks to Jamie and Tash for sending through their photos – and allowing me to share them with you all!
