A Few Bizjets Around CQ This Week - Including RAAF Challenger A37-001 Overflying Gladstone Airport

A few bizjets have been around Central Queensland this week with perhaps the strangest movement being from Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Canadair Challenger 604 A37-001, which was noted flying into Gladstone on Wednesday 19 March.

However, as the photo by local plane spotter Tash shows, the Challenger didn't land, and instead conducted high-level missed approach.

From Gladstone A37-001 flew North to Hamilton Island - where it is believed it did land - and then on to Townsville.

Also on Hamilton Island, Sundyne Cessna 650 Citation VII VH-SSZ arrived from Sydney on Tuesday 18 March.  It departed back there on Friday 21 March.  It then made the very quick - 5 minute - flight to Bankstown.

Also in the Whitsundays, the Queensland Government (State of Queensland) Raytheon Hawker 850XP VH-SGY popped into Proserpine / Whitsunday Coast Airport on Tuesday 18 March from Brisbane.  After staying for the night, VH-SGY flew back to Brisbane on Wednesday 19 March.

Down the road at Mackay, locally-based Raytheon 390 Premier 1 bizjet N7088S departed to Brisbane on Thursday 20 March.  It returned to Mackay early on Saturday 22 March.

Also calling into Mackay this week was the Queensland Police Service (Airwing) Cessna 560 Citation Ultra bizjet VH-PSU.  VH-PSU was quite busy on Friday 21 March, flying into Mackay from Maryborough.  It later departed to Townsville from where it flew into Rockhampton.  From Rockhampton, it departed back to Maryborough and then Brisbane.

Finally, Business Aviation Solutions Cessna 650 Citation VII bizjet VH-LYM arrived into Moranbah Airport on Friday 21 March from Brisbane.  It later departed to Mudgee and Armidale in New South Wales.
