Ex Talisman Saber - RAAF Search and Rescue (CHC Helicopters) Agusta AW139 Helicopter VH-SYJ "Choppa 27" Departs Rockhampton Airport

After arriving into Rockhampton Airport at the start of the month, CHC Helicopters Australia / Lloyd Helicopters Agusta AW139 helicopter VH-SYJ was noted departing from Rockhampton Airport on Tuesday 25 July heading to RAAF Base Amberley as "Choppa 27".

The Agusta was believed to be operating for the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) in a Search and Rescue (SAR) role by CHC Helicopters / Lloyd Helicopters and was based in the Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA) during joint Military Exercise Talisman Saber 2017 (TS17).

VH-SYJ "Choppa 27" was noted completing some med-evac flights from 'Camp Growl' (within Shoalwater Bay) to Rockhampton during the Exercise.
