Qld Govt Hawker 850XP Bizjet VH-SGY - And More - At Rockhampton Airport for Another Day of Beef Australia 2018

On Thursday 10 May, Beef Australia 2018 - Australia’s national beef expo - continued at the Rockhampton Showgrounds and at Rockhampton Airport a couple more General Aviation (GA) aircraft and helicopters were spotted visiting, along with the return of the Queensland Government Airwing (State of Queensland) Raytheon Hawker 850XP bizjet VH-SGY.

VH-SGY returned from Gladstone Airport where it spent the previous night parked - see Blog post below.  Amid tighter than normal security, the Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk ventured across the tarmac to the aircraft before VH-SGY then departed Rocky for Brisbane.

Among the light General Aviation (GA) aircraft and helicopters to be noted visiting Rockhampton Airport also on Thursday 10 May was newly delivered SOCATA TBM 700 N700BK which touched down from Archerfield the previous day and remains parked at Rocky.

The Whitney Pastoral Co. Cessna T206H VH-WPC was noted departing to Mudgee in New South Wales.  It had arrived from its Carcoar base near Bathurst in New South Wales earlier in the week.

Very attractive Toowoomba-based Cessna R182 VH-DMB arrived from and later departed back to Toowoomba.

Cessna 172RG VH-JIX departed back to its Townsville base after arriving over the weekend.

After arriving in Rocky from there the previous day, Piper PA-46R-350T Malibu Mirage VH-NYG departed Rockhampton Airport and returned to Dalby.

Injune-based Sylvester Pastoral Co Robinson R44 II helicopter VH-AIU arrived into Rocky from the south west.

New South Wales-based Cessna R172K VH-KXP arrived into Rockhampton Airport from its Barraba base via Chinchilla.

Brisbane-based Piper PA-31-350 VH-RPV arrived yet again from Bundaberg Airport and later returned back there yet again.

Cessna 182N VH-EKE which is operated from Devoncourt Station near Cloncurry arrived from Archerfield.  The Cessna is flown by the same property as their more familiar Pilatus PC-12/47E VH-MDH.

And finally, Pilatus PC-12/47E VH-PIU of Melbourne VIP Charter / Pegasus Air was noted arriving into Rockhampton Airport from Archerfield.  It later departed to Adelaide.

Sincere thanks to local plane spotters 'IAD', Kayanne H and Trevor H for supplying the photos and information in this post!
