On Monday 22 October, Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, were notable visitors to the Wide Bay / Fraser Coast region, completing a series of engagements before staying for the night on the stunning Fraser Island.

Earlier, they had arrived into Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport on board Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing B737-700(BBJ) bizjet A36-001 which is flown by the RAAF's VIP 34 Squadron out of Canberra.

A36-001 is pictured above after earlier flying into Hervey Bay Airport directly from Sydney.  It was heard to use the radio callsign of "Regent 98".

A short while later, the BBJ returned to the South.

It is expected that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will depart the region for Fiji on Tuesday 23 October.

Meanwhile, also noted calling into the Fraser Coast region also on Monday 22 October was the Queensland Government Airwing (State of Queensland) Raytheon Hawker 850XP bizjet VH-SGY.  It arrived into Hervey Bay Airport from Brisbane, bringing Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk to town to join in the fanfare of the Royals visit.

VH-SGY was then noted positioning to Maryborough Airport for parking before later returning to Hervey Bay and then later still, departing further North to Cairns.

Of interest, VH-SGY was also noted completing a flight from Brisbane to Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast) Airport and back to Brisbane on Saturday 20 October and Sunday 21 October.
