A Few Recent Longreach Airport Jet Movements - Including Qantas Airways B737-800 VH-XZE on Pathfinders Charity Flight

In the space of only a few days, the usually sleepy Longreach Airport played host to three interesting jet visitors.

On Saturday 7 September, Qantas Boeing B737-800 VH-XZE touched down operating the annual Pathfinders charity flight into Longreach from Sydney to help raise money for deaf and blind children.

VH-XZE arrived as QFA1351 from Sydney, and later departed back there as QFA1352.

Meanwhile, on Friday 6 September, Alliance Airlines Fokker F-70 VH-QQY arrived at Longreach from RAAF Base Curtin in Derby Western Australia.  It later departed to Brisbane as UTY606.

Last of the jets was Edwards Coaches Cessna 525 Citation CJ2 bizjet VH-RJB which arrived into Longreach from Broken Hill on Wednesday 4 September.  It departed for Jabiru in the Northern Territory the next day.
