Local plane spotter Jamie C has sent through some truly spectacular images from Gladstone Airport late on Monday 9 September as Virgin Australia Boeing B737-700 VH-VBY call in on a scheduled service from and back to Brisbane.
VH-VBY was captured preparing for departure back to Brisbane as VOZ1716 after earlier touching down as VOZ1717.
As we posted last week, VH-VBY is now only one of two of the shorter B737-700s that Virgin operates.
It's also worth noting that VH-VBY is the 50th aircraft to be operated by Virgin Australia / Virgin Blue Airlines - it even wore a full commemorative livery to highlight the fact - a colour scheme Jamie laments that he never got to see!

It is also worth noting that Virgin has continued to grow and that their 100th aircraft - VH-YFR - was photographed at Rockhampton Airport on Saturday 7 September - see more photos below!
Thanks Jamie for sending through these truly spectacular photos!
