The Bundaberg News Mail Newspaper has reported that members of the Toowoomba-based Darling Downs Aero Club are set to touch down in the Bundaberg region this weekend in a show of support for Bundaberg's tourism industry six months on from the floods.
About 25 people will take part in the fly-in, which was organised by former Bundy girl Rachel Mullett.
The group intends to support as many businesses as it can, spending money with everyone from accommodation providers to hire car companies, local attractions, eateries and even fellow aero clubs.
The group is planned arrive into Bundaberg on Friday 6 September, with the members' first stop a barbecue at the Bundaberg Aero Club.
On Saturday 7 September, a visit the Hinkler Hall of Aviation and the Bundaberg Rum Factory are planned.
The group will fly out to Monduran Airfield on Sunday 8 September for a barbecue lunch before heading home that afternoon.
