Operating yet another Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) charter flight into Gladstone Airport was Fokker F-100 VH-XWR which touched down from Brisbane as UTY660 on Friday 20 September.
After overnighting, it departed back to Brisbane on Saturday 21 September as UTY665.
Meanwhile, also on Friday 20 September, local plane spotters Jamie C and Tash C captured some fantastic photos during the late afternoon light which was affected by nearby bushfires. QantasLink Dash-8-Q400 VH-QOD was captured performing a missed approach due to being "too high", while Cobham Aviation Boeing B717-200 VH-NXQ was photographed passing through the smoke and landing on Runway 10.
Lastly, Jamie and Tash also enjoyed watching the Pro-Sky / Gladstone Aero Club Evektor Sportstar - registered 24-8995 - performing several training flights over Gladstone and Gladstone Airport on Friday 20 September. Flight training with Pro-Sky is currently limited to every Friday and Saturday at Gladstone Airport, however as demand dictates, additional training days will be provided.
