Farewell to Virgin Australia / Virgin Blue Boeing B737-700 VH-VBV - 'Moulin Blue'

News came through last week that Virgin Australia said 'goodbye' to another of its Boeing B737-700 aircraft, with VH-VBV departing Brisbane for Subang in Malaysia last Saturday 31 August.

Gladstone plane spotter Jamie C has sent through a lovely selection of images he captured on Tuesday 20 August when VH-VBV operated a scheduled Virgin Australia flight into Gladstone Airport.

VH-VBV - B737-7BK - c/n 33015-1384 - 'Moulin Blue' - was delivered to Virgin Blue - without winglets - in October 2003, and in fact, entered service with Virgin flying Brisbane-Mackay-Brisbane as DJ919 on Friday 31 October 2003.  VH-VBV was fitted with winglets in 2004.

The departure of VH-VBV leaves only two of the smaller B737-700 aircraft in the Virgin fleet - VH-VBY and VH-VBZ.
