More Fog in CQ Causes Delays at Rockhampton Airport on Tuesday Morning

There was more fog around parts of CQ early on Tuesday 12 July and at Rockhampton Airport there were several delays as both early morning arriving flights were grounded at Brisbane while departing flights remained on the ground at Rocky until mid-morning.

The early morning inbound flights to Rockhampton - QantasLink Dash-8-Q400 VH-QOF as QLK2354 and Virgin Australia ATR 72 VH-FVU as VOZ1231 - were held at Brisbane until the fog had cleared and - even after a significant period of holding South of Rocky - both aircraft made successful arrivals after 10am.

While the early morning departures from Rocky - QantasLink Dash-8-Q400 VH-LQK as QLF2349 and Virgin Australia ATR 72 VH-FVH as VOZ1230 - were held on the ground at Rockhampton Airport until mid-morning when they eventually departed to Brisbane.

Finally, the early morning Pel-Air Aviation SAAB 340A PFY7416 cargo flight from Brisbane to Rockhampton and Mackay which was operated by VH-KDB bypassed Rocky and flew directly to Mackay Airport.
