Wednesday and Thursday Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) Charters to Central Queensland Airports

Early on Wednesday 30 November, Skytrans Airlines Dash-8-100 VH-QQL, was noted flying a fly-in fly-out (FIFO) charter from Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast and then to Middlemount and return. This seems to now be a weekly flight.

On Thursday 1 December, a pair of Alliance Airlines Fokker F-100s operated FIFO charters between Brisbane and Emerald. VH-XWQ flew as UTY2240/2241, while VH-FWI flew as UTY7656/7657.

Also on Thursday, Alliance F-100 VH-XWM operated a FIFO flight from Brisbane to Mackay and return as UTY1060/1061. These flights are becoming quite regular now and seem to operate on most Thursdays and Saturdays.

Incidentally, VH-XWM was on the ground at Mackay Airport along side sistership VH-XWR, which was operating a scheduled QantasLink flight from Brisbane.
