Also Spotted at Gladstone and Rockhampton Airports This Week - Virgin Australia B737-800 VH-VUA No Longer Flying the South Sydney Rabbitohs!

As well as all the fantastic aircraft movements associated with Military Exercise Talisman Saber 2013, Rockhampton Airport has not only also played host to a bizjet - Toowoomba-based Light Jets Australia Cessna 525 Citation CJ1 VH-TFW - as shown below - but also a wide range of interesting big and small commercial and general aviation aircraft.

On Wednesday 24 July, local plane spotter, and South Sydney Rabbitohs supporter, 'IAD' finally captured his favourite aircraft at Rockhampton Airport.  However, the Virgin Australia Boeing B737-800 VH-VUA, has recently lost the Rabbitohs supporter flag that adorned the front of the aircraft.

Still, after months of chasing this aircraft, 'IAD' was still happy to finally see it at the beef capital.

It's worth noting that Virgin Australia services into Rockhampton are operated by almost every type of aircraft in the fleet - from Embraer E-190 regional jets through to the larger Boeing B737-700 and B737-800.  Some services are also operated by the smaller Virgin Australia Regional Airlines ATR 72-500 and -600 turbo-prop aircraft.  Shown below is one of Virgin's recently acquired B737-800s - VH-YFN - touching down at Rockhampton Airport on Saturday 20 July.

Meanwhile, at Gladstone Airport, Virgin Australia continue to operate jets on their scheduled services into the port city from Brisbane.  Local plane spotter Michael F captured Embraer E-190 jet VH-ZPT as it departed Gladstone for Brisbane late on Tuesday 23 July.

Also spotted at Gladstone Airport on Tuesday 23 July - and as posted below - was Brenzil Dassault Falcon 2000EX bizjet VH-KRW - believed to be ex-VH-CRW.

Back at Rockhampton Airport, Trevor H has spotted a pair of Aeroprakt A22 Foxbat ultralight aircraft have arrived recently, for what is believed to be a new flight training operation at Rockhampton.

Foxbat 24-4270 was first to arrive early in July.

While Foxbat 24-8300 was spotted arriving into Rockhampton this week.

Trevor also recently spotted the Australian Helicopters Agusta AB412 (Bell 412) helicopter VH-LSV at Rockhampton Airport.  The chopper is currently acting in a medical evacuation (medi-vac) role, based in the Shoalwater Bay Training Area during Exercise Talisman Saber 2013.

Lastly, on Wednesday 24 July, 'IAD' captured a quick photo of Helibiz / Helicopter Flight Centre (Airlie Beach) Robinson R-44 II VH-TIB as it called into Rockhampton Airport.

Some great images from a great week of aviation movements in Central Queensland!  My thanks to all the local plane spotters for sharing their images with the CQ Plane Spotting Blog - still the original and the best!!
