Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) British Aerospace (BAe) Hawk 127 Jets Depart Rockhampton Airport for Williamtown

The four lovely little Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) British Aerospace (BAe) Hawk 127 jet training aircraft that have been based at Rockhampton Airport during Exercise Hamel and joint Military Exercise Talisman Sabre 2015 have departed for the their home at RAAF Base Williamtown in New South Wales on Monday 20 July.

Local plane spotters Kayanne H and Trevor H were on hand as all four Hawks departed together, taxing out together before departing in two groups of two.  The four Hawks that were deployed to Rockhampton were A27-13, A27-33, A27-07 and A27-17.  They were heard to be using the radio callsign "Puma".

The four Hawks have been noted flying 3-4 sorties each day for the previous couple of weeks from Rockhampton Airport into the Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA) and back to Rocky.

Sincere thanks to Kayanne for taking the time capture and send through these great photos!

We hope to see the Hawks back in Rocky one day soon!
