On Thursday 9 July, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Canadair CL-600-2B16 Challenger 604 bizjet A37-003 of the VIP 34 Squadron in Canberra called into Mackay Airport from the South as "Regent 19". The Challenger brought Federal Senator Barnaby Joyce to town for meetings with local farmers.
After a couple of hours on the ground, A37-003 departed back to the South.
Meanwhile, a couple of other corporate turbo-prop visitors to Mackay Airport on Thursday 9 July included Vanderfield Pilatus PC-12/47 VH-WPH which departed to Bundaberg and its Toowoomba base. And also Hawker Beechcraft C90GTi King Air VH-JJU which arrived from its Cloncurry base and departed to Townsville.
Finally, this week, Surveillance Australia / Australian Customs and Border Protection Service (Cobham Aviation) Dash-8-200 VH-ZZP "Customs 112" and Dash-8-300 VH-ZZG "Customs 66" have both been noted operating out of Mackay Airport on surveillance sorties.
