Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) Bombardier CL-600-2B16 Challenger 604 Bizjet VH-XNF "Rescue 550" Late Visit to Mackay Airport - Plus More!

As the sun was setting on Monday 22 August, Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) (Cobham SAR Services Pty Ltd) Bombardier CL-600-2B16 Challenger 604 bizjet VH-XNF as "Rescue 550" was noted arriving into Mackay Airport after completing a sortie that originally started at Cairns.

After taking on fuel, VH-XNF "Rescue 550" returned to Cairns.

While Mitchell Water Cessna 525 Citation M2 bizjet VH-WMY was back in the region yet again, this time flying up form Melbourne (Moorabbin) to Miles Airport and then Hamilton Island Airport.  It then departed to Parafield in South Australia before returning to Moorabbin.

Of interest, it seems VH-WMY visited Miles and Chinchilla Airports last Saturday 13 August and Wednesday 17 August.

And MacKellar Mining Equipment Pty Ltd (Revesco Aviation) Cessna 680 Citation Sovereign bizjet VH-MMC was noted visiting Winton Airport from its Sunshine Coast base.

Meanwhile, also on Monday 22 August, Seair Pacific / Istlecote Cessna 208 Caravan VH-TQW was noted departing Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) and Maryborough Airports for Rockhampton Airport and then Middlemount Aerodrome.  It then returned to Rockhampton and Hervey Bay Airports.

Sunshine Coast-registered Piper PA-31 Navajo VH-WZS flew down from Townsville to Mackay Airport.

UPDATE!  On Tuesday 23 August, VH-WZS flew from Mackay Airport to Bundaberg Airport and back.  As the photo suggests, VH-WZS seems to be flown by Horizon Airways.

Horizon Airways Piper PA-34-200T VH-COP flew home to Mackay Airport from Townsville.

Bundaberg-based Aero Optics (General Aviation Maintenance operated) Aero Commander 500-S VH-JAJ looked to fly from Maryborough Airport to Gladstone Airport and then Townsville.

Aerometrex Vulcanair (Partenavia) VH-EPX was noted flying from Emerald Airport to Gladstone Airport and then Archerfield.  It had spent the last couple of days completing aerial survey flights out of Rockhampton, Mackay and Emerald Airports.

Platinum Aircraft Charter (South Australia) Beech B200C King Air VH-CBZ called into Longreach Airport from Burketown.

UPDATE!  On Tuesday 23 August, VH-CBZ looked to complete its closed tourist charter flight by departing Longreach Airport for Broken Hill and Adelaide.

While Tait Motors (Goondiwindi) Raytheon A36 Bonanza VH-DTQ flew up from Goondiwindi to Charleville and Longreach Airports before then continuing to Mount Isa.

And Townsville Airlines Beech 1900D VH-RUE called into Mackay Airport while flying up form Brisbane to Townsville and Cairns.  It had earlier flown down from Cairns and Townsville to Brisbane.

Finally, also on Monday 22 August, some Interstate Piper PA-28-181 Archer - all possibly flown by the Bankstown-based Schofields Flying Club - VH-ZFP, VH-XCW, VH-XHE and VH-NRF, all looked to fly together up from Archerfield to Gladstone and Mackay Airports and then the Whitsunday Airport at Shute Harbour, where they were photographed soon after arriving.  

Of interest, they had arrived into Archerfield from Bankstown and Tamworth the previous day.

UPDATE!  On Tuesday 23 August, all four PA-28-181 Archers departed the Whitsunday Airport at Shute Harbour for Emerald Airport and then Longreach Airport.  On Wednesday 24 August, they continued down to Charleville Airport and back into New South Wales, eventually returning to Bankstown on Thursday 25 August.
