Nauru Airlines Boeing B737-300 VH-XNU Calls into Hamilton Island Airport on Closed Charter Flight(s)

UPDATED!

On Friday 7 September, Nauru Airlines Boeing B737-300 VH-XNU was noted arriving into Hamilton Island Airport from Sydney as RON902.  It had earlier positioned from Brisbane as RON801.

It appears that VH-XNU was operating a closed charter flight into Hamo.

It later returned to Brisbane, positioning empty as RON803.

Then on Sunday 9 September, VH-XNU returned to Hamilton Island Airport, again positioning from Brisbane empty as RON801.  It then departed Hamo for Sydney as RON902, returning the passengers back to the New South Wales capital.

VH-XNU then returned to Brisbane empty as RON803.

As we've mentioned in the past, Nauru Airlines (the trading name of Nauru Air Corporation) and formerly known as 'Our Airline' and 'Air Nauru', is the national airline of the Republic of Nauru.  It currently operates scheduled international services from Nauru to other Pacific Islands and Australia.  Nauru Airlines also operates various charter flights to locations in Australia, Asia, New Zealand, South and Central Pacific.

Presently, Nauru Airlines operates a fleet of four Boeing 737-300 aircraft, each configured in a 130-seat / 2-class layout that service Brisbane (Australia), Majuro (Marshall Islands), Nadi (Fiji), Nauru (Nauru) and Tarawa (Kiribati). A lone Boeing 737-300F is also operated.
