Virgin Australia Embraer E-190 VH-ZPB Calls into Gladstone Airport Saturday with a B737-800 Due Sunday!

On Saturday 3 January, Virgin Australia Embraer E-190 VH-ZPB was noted calling into Gladstone Airport operating the scheduled VOZ1709/1712 service from and back to Brisbane.

This arrival follows the recent pattern of a Saturday jet service for Virgin into the industrial city.  Virgin have also operated jets late on Sundays, and information suggests that the airline will send the bigger Boeing B737-800 aircraft to Gladstone Airport late on Sunday 4 January.

Meanwhile, local plane spotter Michael F has sent through some more great photos that he captured of the action on Thursday 1 January which featured the arrival of QantasLink (Cobham Aviation) Boeing B717-200 VH-YQT on a Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) charter flight from Sydney.

It was VH-YQT's third visit to Gladstone in recent weeks on FIFO duties, and to see this aircraft again was a treat.

Also on Thursday, fellow QantasLink B717-200 VH-NXG visited Gladstone also on FIFO duties.

While, Virgin Australia Embraer E-190 VH-ZPA operated the late afternoon VOZ1717/1720 scheduled service from and back to Brisbane.

Some more great photos from Gladstone, and we thank Michael for sending them through!
