Exercise Wallaby 2016 - RSAF Lockheed C-130H Hercules Transport Aircraft Also Come and Go at Rockhampton Airport

While the arrival of the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Boeing F-15SG “Shikra” Strike Eagles into Rockhampton Airport was a highlight, on Friday 16 September, a pair of RSAF Lockheed C-130H transport aircraft departed and arrived also at Rockhampton Airport.

After arriving the previous day from Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Base Amberley, RSAF Lockheed C-130H Hercules '732' departed Rockhampton Airport early on Friday heading to Darwin as "Singa 9665".

Then, touching down in the middle of the F-15s, fellow RSAF Lockheed C-130H Hercules '730' arrived at Rockhampton Airport also from RAAF Base Amberley but as "Singa 9666".  Of interest, it had arrived at Amberley from Darwin the previous day.

'730' was parked on the Military Hardstand on the Northern end of the Rockhampton Airport apron and was promptly unloaded - I suspect with equipment in support of the continuing deployment of the F-15s.  It looked to be spending the night at Rocky as well.

These immaculately presented Hercs are two of six operated by the RSAF's 122 Squadron out of Paya Lebar Air Base in Singapore.

It is expected that one Hercules will spend some time deployed to Rockhampton Airport during Exercise Wallaby 2016.
