Making a rare weekend visit to the region on Sunday 7 June was Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Dassault Falcon 7X bizjet A56-002 which was spotted at Rockhampton Airport.
The still fairly new Falcon 7X bizjet, which is flown by the RAAF's VIP 34 Squadron, looked to arrive from Cairns and Townsville as "Envoy 16". It looked to fly up there from Canberra on Saturday 6 June.
After a short time on the ground, A56-002 then departed Rockhampton Airport and flew direct to Canberra.
UPDATE! Perhaps not such a rare weekend movement with research revealing that three other of the RAAF's VIP 34 Squadron aircraft - fellow Dassault Falcon 7X A56-003 and Boeing B737-7DF(BBJ) aircraft A36-001 and A36-002 - were also in the air also on Saturday 6 June and Sunday 7 June.
Sincere thanks to local plane spotters Michael M and Don W for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos!
