Many Photos of RAAF Boeing B737-7DT(BBJ) A36-001 "Envoy 50" - And More - At Rockhampton Airport as the Prime Minister Comes to Town

On Wednesday 27 April, Australian Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, was in Rockhampton for a series of engagements as the Federal election campaign rolled on.  He was photographed boarding and then departing on Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing B737-7DT(BBJ) A36-001 "Envoy 50".

The BBJ was photographed (above) arriving into Rockhampton Airport from Townsville and then (below) departing Rockhampton Airport for Cairns.

A36-001 "Envoy 50" was due to ferry the Prime Minister down to Rocky the previous day, but as mentioned below, it encountered a technical problem and hence he was forced to 'hitch a ride' from Townsville to Rockhampton Airport on board the Federal Government chartered Alliance Airlines Fokker F-70 VH-JFB "Envoy 20" which is being used to ferry media around the Prime Minister.

VH-JFB "Envoy 20" later also departed Rockhampton Airport for Cairns.

While RAAF Dassault Falcon 7X bizjet A56-001 Envoy 57 - which also arrived the previous day but from Wangaratta and Mildura - also departed Rockhampton Airport on Wednesday 27 April, but for Brisbane and Canberra.

And Federal Government chartered Seidler Properties P/L / Australian Corporate Jet Centres Beech B200 King Air VH-OWN as "Envoy 80" was again noted visiting Rockhampton Airport, this time arriving from and later departing back to Canberra.

Meanwhile, also on Wednesday 27 April, another Federal Government chartered aircraft in the form of Australian Corporate Jet Centres' operated Embraer EMB-135BJ Legacy bizjet VH-VLT which was flying as "Envoy 60", looked to visit Gladstone Airport.  It arrived from and later departed back to Canberra.

Finally, also on Wednesday 27 April, a couple of RAAF Beech B350 Super King Air turboprops were noted passing through Longreach Airport heading both North and South.

A32-675 as "Hudson 39" landed at Longreach Airport from Horn Island before then departing to RAAF Base East Sale.

And A32-426 "Hudson 01" also landed at Longreach Airport but from RAAF Base East Sale before it  then departed to Horn Island.  However, due to heavy rain at Horn Island, it then diverted to Weipa

UPDATE!  On Thursday 28 April, RAAF Super King Air A32-426 "Hudson 01" flew from Weipa to Horn Island.

Sincere thanks to the local plane spotters for allowing us to share these great photos from Rockhampton Airport!
