Another Triple Treat of RAAF Aircraft at Rockhampton Airport Monday

For the second time this month, three different types of Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) aircraft have each performed spectacular missed approaches at Rockhampton Airport on Monday 12 May - and local plane spotter Kayanne H was there to capture the action!

First to be captured by Kayanne was RAAF Boeing B737-7ES / E-7A Wedgetail Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) aircraft - believed to be A30-003 - was seen departed after its missed approach as "Wedgetail 01".

A little later, RAAF Airbus A330-203 / KC-30A (MRTT) A39-004 was also photographed by Kayanne as it also climbed out from its missed approach.  It was noted using the callsign "Dragon 23" and flew up from and back to Amberley.

Finally, catching local spotters - including Kayanne - by surprise was Boeing C-17A Globemaster III - believed to be A41-208 - which Kayanne captured also climbing out of Rocky but as "Stallion 44".

Certainly a great start to the week at Rockhampton, and I'd like to sincerely thank Kayanne for taking the time to catch these great images and then sending them through!
