New Dassault Falcon 2000LX Bizjet VH-WIO Arrives in Australia for Balmoral Air

Regular readers of the CQ Plane Spotting Blog will know that Balmoral Air-operated bizjets make regular flights into Hamilton Island Airport in the Whitsundays.  These aircraft are operated for Hamilton Island's owner, and well-known vineyard owner, Bob Oatley.

Recently, Balmoral Air has been operating Dassault Falcon 2000EX F-GZLX, and on Friday 16 May, the bizjet departed Bankstown for Cairns and eventually Singapore (Seletar) Airport.

It is believed that F-GZLX has now left the country.

On Monday 19 May, local plane spotter Bernie P captured some great images as Balmoral Air's brand new Dassault Falcon 2000LX VH-WIO touched down at Sydney Airport at the conclusion of its trans-Pacific delivery flight.

The new VH-WIO was delivered from Little Rock, in the United States (USA), ferrying via San Francisco, Honolulu and Nadi, before touching down at Sydney.

VH-WIO then took the 4-minute flight across to Bankstown where it will now take up residence, replacing F-GZLX.

Incidentally, Bernie also sends through some great photos of the outside and inside of Dassault Falcon 2000EX F-GZLX when was still in the hangar at Bankstown recently.

Of interest, F-GZLX replaced Balmoral Air's original VH-WIO - serial 183 - which reportedly departed to Europe last year but did not return to Australia.  F-GZLX was ferried in to Australia by Dassault Aviation for Balmoral Air.

The original VH-WIO has now reportedly been re-registered to Dassault Aviation as N183FJ, and was recently noted flying into China.

Sincere thanks to Bernie for supplying the great photos and information in this post!  Your support is really appreciated!
