Around The World Flight Troll Air Ravin 500 ZU-XML Due Into Longreach Airport Monday

As is being reported on various plane spotting blogs and websites, the South African-based Troll Air (Troll Aircraft) Ravin 500 ZU-XML (c/n 0905021) has arrived in Australia on its Earthrounder - Round the World (RTW) - flight which started from Cape Town, South African in July 2013.

On Monday 12 May, information suggests that ZU-XML is due to touch down in Central Queensland at Longreach Airport, arriving from Bankstown where it has been since late last week after arriving from New Zealand.

UPDATE!  Unfortunately, ZU-XML did not land at Longreach on Monday 12 May.  Instead, it flew directly from Bankstown to Ayres Rock in the 'Red Centre'.  On Monday 19 May, ZU-XML departed Australia via Darwin for Jakata (Halim) Airport in Indonesia.

The Ravin 500 is factory built and owned by Calle Hedberg.  The design of the Raven is based on the Piper PA-24 Comanche,  but is an all composite aircraft.  This particular airframe was built in 2009.

Meanwhile, another overseas aircraft in the form of New Zealand-based Piper PA-24-250 Comanche ZK-BAZ reported popped into Longreach Airport last week after earlier ferrying across 'the ditch'.  Details are sketchy, however, the aircraft has been noted at some other airports in Australia recently suggesting that a visit to Longreach was certainly possible!

Certainly a couple of beauties to look out for!
