Polet Aviakompania (Polet Airlines) Antonov AN-124 RA-82068 Touches Down at Rockhampton Airport Tuesday Night

Polet Aviakompania (Polet Airlines) Antonov AN-124-100 RA-82068 made a spectacular arrival into Rockhampton Airport late on Tuesday 24 September.  It arrived as "POT4752" direct from Paya Lebar Airbase in Singapore, and touched down on Runway 33 at around 7pm.  There was a small crowd of spectators to watch the Antonov's arrival, including Ash B who has allowed us to share his fantastic images.

The massive Russian freighter was carrying equipment as well as a pair of Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Boeing CH-47D Chinook Helicopters that are due to participate in the upcoming Singapore Armed Force's Exercise Wallaby which is due to kick off next Monday 30 September.

With the 'Chooks' off-loaded, it was expected that (at the time of writing) the Antonov would depart Rockhampton early on Wednesday 25 September.

Information suggests too, that RA-82068 should return to Rockhampton later in the week!
