Exercise Wallaby 2022 - Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Airbus A330-243 Multi Role Tanker Transport (A330-MRTT) '762' Departs Rockhampton Airport Again!

On Friday 14 October, the visiting Republic of Singapore Air Force Airbus A330-243 Multi Role Tanker Transport (A330-MRTT) aircraft, wearing serial number '762', departed Rockhampton Airport.

It had arrived late the previous day - see Blog post below - and on Friday, the MRTT departed Rockhampton Airport for Paya Lebar Air Base in Singapore again flying as 'SAF8249' / "Singa 8249".

Of interest, the A330-MRTT is one of six currently flown by the RSAF's 112 Squadron based at the Changi Air Base (CAB) (East) in Singapore. The squadron goes by the motto of 'Determined to Deliver'.

The departure of the MRTT leaves only the RSAF Boeing AH-64D Apache helicopters at Rockhampton Airport with all four now prepared for trucking to a shipping point for export back to Singapore.

UPDATE!  A Facebook post on Friday 21 October suggested that the four Apaches would be taken by road to a departure point for shipping back to Singapore.

As the photo shows, they have all been prepared for transport.

And with that, the Singapore Armed Forces Exercise Wallaby 2022 will be over.

Sincere thanks to local plane spotters 'IAD', Scott H and John L for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos!
