A Busy Thursday Afternoon at Biloela / Thangool Airport with Three Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) Arrivals
For the normally sleepy Biloela / Thangool Airport, Thursday 8 August proved to be quite a busy day with three different fly-in fly-out (FIFO) arrivals touching down from Brisbane.
Air Link (Dubbo) - which is now an independently run charter airline within the Regional Express Holdings group - Beech 1900D VH-RUE arrived into 'bilo' first, followed by Skytrans Dash-8-300 which touched down as SKP726. Lastly, Regional Express (REX) coloured SAAB 340B+ VH-ZLF arrived from Brisbane as PFY9816.
'PFY' is the new flight number for Pel Air - which is also a a wholly owned subsidiary of Regional Express Holdings. Spotters have noticed this recent change on the week-nightly SAAB 340 freight flights between Mackay, Rockhampton and Brisbane which are operated by Pel-Air.
Along with the two scheduled QantasLink Dash-8 services into Biloela / Thangool Airport on Thursday - operated by VH-SBV and VH-SDE - it made for a busy day!
